Overall Rules

-Please note, for Dragonmaster at Coronation in Late July, the examples given for each category will become subcategories. For this tournament, there are only broad catgories.

-Please fill out BOTH awardsdocumentation.doc once, and entrysheet.doc for each entry and print them out and bring to the event with you. Both sheets will be available at the site as well.

-If you wish to preregister, and are not sure when you will arrive on site on Friday night, you can email Alona before Friday and let her know what you will be entering, so she can hold up the judging (yes, that late at night) for your items. Please let someone know if you are not going to be able to make it, Judges need to sleep too. If it's too late and there is no notice from you we may go on without you.

There are category specific rules within the category list.

  1. All entrants scores will be announced at the same time. All efforts will be made to release scores as soon as possible.
  2. All entries must be in the Judging area when Judging Starts
  3. An item may be judged in one category but certain element of an entry can be entered into a different category. (Tooling on a set of leather armor, Intricate Embroidery on a piece of garb)
  4. Comments are required for all judging.
  5. Concept sketches may be included, but should be mentioned on the entry sheet so judges know to look for it.
  6. Disruptive behavior or being disrespectful to the Judges will not be tolerated. Anyone breaking this rule will be asked to leave the judging area.
  7. Please make sure to review the Entry Categories before filling in your sheets. Entry sheets must be finished before judging time begins.
  8. Entry Sheets MUST be legible, Entry forms which can be filled out electronically will be available online well before the event.
  9. It is better to be comprehensive on the entry sheet than to assume judges know what particular steps you used on the entries. (Examples: Bought Rings vs. Self wound and cut rings, or Hand Stitched vs. Machine Sewn)
  10. Items will be judged by 5 judges The High and Low score will be thrown out. Final score will be average of the three final scores.
  11. Items will be released at the convenience of the Judging.
  12. There is a specific category for Joint Entries, so the items being entered into other categories should not be joint entries.
  13. Regent will be available for Category Consultation from opening of pre-registration through the close of registration.
  14. Scores will be a 0 to 5 in tenth or quarter points. Final score will be given to the 100ths place.
